4 Tips to Select the Right Watch Size

Wearing a watch too big or small for your wrist is rather counterproductive. It is just like donning unfitting apparel that spoil the outfit; it won’t be comfortable and won’t issue statements you want it to. You might not come cross pieces that are perfect fit; you might have to get it altered accordingly or even move on to different pieces since the perfect one doesn’t fit. While looking for men’s leather watches online or offline, buying the right size will do you more good than buying a watch that doesn’t fit you well. Consider these tips to select the right watch size:

The Case Diameter

The diameter of the casing must be considered depending upon the size of your wrist. The case size for adults’ ranges between 40-56 mm. Now, an appropriately sized case, especially one too big will appear to be funny. The band points on both ends must not overlap the width of your wrist or it will quite uncomfortable to wear. On the other hand, casings smaller than 36 mm might look vintage or even feminine.

The Case Thickness

The best watches for men in India are manufactured to withstand rough usage. For the same reason, the thickness of the case is proportional to its diameter. The notion that thinner cases must be higher quality was true back when mechanical watches dominated the market; things have changed. The thickness is usually in proportion with the diameter as electronic and quartz watches have taken over the market. The thickness increases or decreases in direct proportions to the diameter. 7mm thickness is common for diameters 38-42 mm. Watches with and more than 44 mm of diameters have 9mm thickness.

The Band/Strap Width

The width of the watch strap largely depends on the diameter of the case. While personal preferences come in to play with the strap, it always best when it is half the size of the diameter of the case. A strap too small or too big will look disproportionate thereby spoiling the look of the watch. If you really want a band of the different width, go 1mm up or down since it will drastically alter the look of the watch. Make sure that the band fits your wrist well, since a loose one will ride up the forearm and a tight one will be uncomfortable.

The Type of Band

Apart from the regular leather and chain bands, you can get silicone bands when online shopping watches for men or women.  It is obvious that the material of the strap alters the size of the watch. Leather bands are better for a slim look whereas, metallic bands are better for watches with big cases. It also determines the weight of the watch.

Keep these points in mind and you will be able to buy a watch that is perfect for you!
